The Outsiders Book

We have been reading the book "The Outsiders." We have based this blog on the main themes in this book. This book was the inspiration for our blog. In "The Outsiders" we got to take a look into bullying, peer pressure, and stereotyping in the older days. Turns out, not much has changed. The only major difference we found was the way these issues are handled. In the 1960s kids were expected to handle these issues themselves. Therefore, there was a lot of physical fighting. Nowadays, adults step in more. There is not nearly as much fighting. These days we have been taught how to handle these situation properly and without violence. Back in the older days research had not been done and these kind of issues were not concerns to adults. Therefore, we are making this blog a positive resource for teens to use if they are struggling with these types of issues.
