Thank You!

Hello to anyone reading this,  its rocky here and I would just like to thank you. Yes, I mean you, for all of the support you have given to me and other upstanders. I would also like to thanks many people for helping out with our blog and donating money to help us for another event coming up. The event that is coming up is to support autism throughout the world and we are going to be doing this at our very school, so if you want to see what happens, just leave a comment and I will post pics of the event. Also comment if you want me to post videos of any problems you are having or just questions you would like to know and I will answer them.

Hello fellow up standers and up stander followers! We are already planning our new autism campaign for April 2015! Get ready for a great year! We're back and ready to answer your questions. What Happened at our April Spirit Assembly!

So, we have these Spirit Assembly's at our school every month and since this month is Autism Awareness month our amazing teacher Mrs. Neidlinger thought it would be great if we went up (in front of the entire school, I might add) and told them what we were doing. It was great to see all the students wearing blue for Autism today and it actually looked really cool.
I don't think some of you understand the level of stress this took to not only present who the mysterious Upstanders actually are but also to plan this whole week.  It was also really scary at the thought that the students that finally see who we are may bully us because of what we're doing... It was scary.
I am really thankful that this worked out how it did work out.

Autism Awareness Month Campaign

April is autism awareness month!

Our Campaign : 
We are going to try to get some sort of fundraising campaign going. We are going to donate all profits to Autism Speaks. It is a big autism awareness and fundraising organization. Check it out at Autism Speaks Website. I, Sam, am thinking about maybe a bake sale or a car wash. All the other ideas I came up with cost money for US to put on, and our funds are extremely limited. So if you have good cheap ideas for fundraising, PLEASE COMMENT!! We will continue discussing and create a new post when we make a decision.

Here's what I Feel...

I am so sorry that I, as a member of the Upstanders haven't been checking the blog recently.  I've noticed that it's become sort of a spam website because all we've been posting lately is "Go check out this blog." Yes, all of those blogs are ours but we probably shouldn't rely on you guys to check it out. 
Recently I've been having some really hard things happen to me that, as a 7th grader, are terrible to deal with.  With school and all I'm drowning in stress but for me, that's normal.  Let's just say a great friendship was brutally torn apart and it's hard.  Maybe it was a little more than a friendship, maybe not... I'll let you guys imagine what you want.
With this slaughter of a friendship, I started judging myself... A lot. It constantly got me down and I would always ask my friends almost everyday on advice not directly putting it towards me.  I'd say, "What if this happened, how do you think I should deal with it?" or I'd just straight up ask them my questions. 
My point here is self bullying can happen and if you don't think it's worth talking about, heck yeah it is!  Everyone has bullied themselves before and nobody likes it.  Talk to someone about it.  Talk to God (if you're a Christian), talk to a friend, talk to your mom, even.  Just get it out and ask them for help.  Asking for help is perfectly fine there's no rules against asking for it, so do it! I asked for help with just about anyone who'd talk to me and I'm better now.
Remember, everything happens for a reason and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.  This is Katy, signing out.

Shhhhh...

Okay guys, so here's the deal.  I talked to Sam, who was kind of the leader of the Upstanders in the very beginning, and she said that it's a great idea to go on with the 12 days of Christmas challenge!  On our personal Google Doc/chat spot for us the original Upstanders we are holding a vote between the 6 of us.  We need more Upstanders! Remember if you become an Upstander you can't be a part of the Google Doc- not the discriminate it's for our safety-.  Don't forget about our e-mail (it's how you give us the pics) bullyingupstanders@gmail.com .

12 Days of Christmas

So guys, whether y'all celebrate Christmas or not, I - Katy- am going to get with my fellow upstanders to try and conduct a 12 day contest.  Here is what I'm thinking, beginning on December 12th I want to see how many pledge's we can get sent in from you guys (our feet picture).
RULES
Please send the picture to our email otherwise we won't get it.
Get a group of friends that are against bullying to take the pledge with you.
The picture must be of your feet - we DO NOT have parent permission to post a picture of your faces.
MUST BE OF YOUR FEET
We will post the first two we get no matter what and together we will choose one to win.
There will be first- fifth places.  This is NOT official yet, I still have to talk to the upstanders.
Why is this so important?
